CAPE TOWN, South Africa, June 19, 2026 – The Africa Energy Forum 2026 concluded here with Sunwoda using the stage to present a full-scenario product matrix that spans storage cells, utility-scale systems and commercial & industrial (C&I) storage. The company engaged global energy partners in detailed discussions on how storage technology can accelerate the build-out of Africa’s energy infrastructure.
As renewable energy gains momentum across the continent, storage is becoming vital for supply stability and grid flexibility. At the same time, harsh operating conditions—high temperatures, sand, dust and salt spray—demand even greater safety and reliability from storage installations. Responding to these diverse application needs, Sunwoda put the spotlight on its 261 kWh C&I storage system and broader utility-scale solutions, targeting industrial parks, commercial facilities, grid support and renewable-integration projects.
Drawing on years of battery R&D and system integration expertise, Sunwoda’s storage systems incorporate multi-layer safety designs that deliver end-to-end protection from cell to system. The products carry an IP55 rating and feature intelligent thermal management, enabling stable operation in hot, dusty and coastal environments. This makes them a more dependable storage backbone for local energy projects.
In the cell segment, Sunwoda exhibited a full lineup moving from 72 Ah, 85 Ah, 102 Ah, 280 Ah and 314 Ah through to large-format 588 Ah and 684 Ah cells, covering C&I and utility-scale demands. As the global market shifts toward larger capacity, higher safety and longer cycle life, the company continues to invest in cell innovation—upgrading materials, structural design and smart manufacturing to lift overall performance. From cell development and manufacturing processes to quality management systems, Sunwoda is building reliability assurance that spans the entire product lifecycle, providing a solid foundation for large-scale storage deployment.
During the forum, Sunwoda took part in industry panels and closed-door exchanges, sitting down with energy developers, grid operators, investors and supply-chain representatives to explore Africa’s energy transition pathway. Conversations centred on the coordinated growth of renewables and storage, grid modernization, and energy security in industrialization, underscoring the important role storage plays in strengthening energy resilience and fueling industrial development.
Looking ahead, Sunwoda says it will stay focused on technology innovation and global deployment, supplying safe, reliable storage products and solutions for the worldwide energy transition and contributing to green energy development in Africa and beyond.
