CALB Brings Full-Stack 'Zhijiu' Energy Storage Solutions to EES Europe 2026

Zhijiu' full-stack energy storage portfolio

MUNICH, June 23, 2026 – China’s CALB put its next-generation “Zhijiu” (Enduring) series of full-stack energy storage solutions on display at the EES Europe exhibition, held in Munich from June 23 to 25. The company is anchoring its offerings on a complete family of long-cycle cells and a standardized system platform, building a solution set that covers core scenarios from utility-scale plants to commercial and industrial (C&I) parks. Through integrated delivery of cells, systems and services, CALB aims to significantly reduce the levelized cost of storage (LCOS) and help customers pursue an efficient, safe and economically viable green energy transition.

Utility-Scale Storage: All-Liquid-Cooled Integrated Design for Europe’s Toughest Conditions

For large-scale installations, CALB has adopted a fully integrated liquid-cooled design meant to withstand the diverse and demanding environments across Europe, combining a 25-year ultra-long lifespan with high energy density to form a reliable storage backbone. The utility-scale line-up includes:

  • 661 Ah ultra-large-capacity laminated long-cycle cell: Hailed by the company as a performance champion, it uses CALB’s industry-first third-generation lamination process and mature lithium supplementation technology to deliver 15,000 cycles, zero degradation in the first three years, and a 25-year calendar life, setting a new benchmark.
  • 588 Ah large-capacity wound long-cycle cell: Built with mature processes for full-duration storage applications, it differentiates itself through long-cycle technology.
  • 6.25 MWh second-generation Zhijiu liquid-cooled container: Claimed to achieve the optimal balance between energy density and transport constraints in a standard footprint, with single-unit capacity increased by approximately 25% over the previous generation and roughly 40% fewer components.
  • 20-foot 6.9 MWh container and 10-foot "10 MWh+" modular liquid-cooled system: The 20-foot unit maximizes energy density to compress upfront capital expenditure, while the 10-foot container uses an innovative decoupled architecture that simplifies both transport and installation, shortening construction and grid-connection timelines – a design CALB positions as the optimal solution for future long-duration storage.

C&I Storage: Flexible Configuration, Safety and Fast Payback

For commercial and industrial parks, CALB is offering flexible, safety-focused systems designed to accelerate investment recovery. The highlights include 261 kWh and 418 kWh liquid-cooled outdoor cabinets that integrate ventilation and explosion-venting designs into a multi-dimensional active fire protection system. A single cabinet or multiple units can be combined flexibly, and the full series carries both European and North American certifications, delivering class-leading system-level safety. Paired with long-cycle cells and full-domain liquid cooling, the cabinets promise outstanding whole-lifecycle economics.

Expanding Scenarios: Long-Life Cells Power Diverse Applications

Underpinning the product range is CALB’s full spectrum of long-cycle cells, including the 314 Ah Gen 2.0 cell that is already in mass production globally. Positioned as a “storage super cell,” this family serves as a foundation for emerging applications beyond standard utility and C&I use cases.

CALB defines its core competitiveness through leading cell technology, standardized systems and full-scenario adaptability. With the Zhijiu series, the battery specialist is building an energy storage ecosystem that spans utility, commercial-industrial and multi-scenario deployments, contributing to the global clean energy transition and sustainable development.
