March 17, 2026, Chengdu, China — EVE Energy, a leading Chinese lithium-ion battery manufacturer, officially rolled out two new all-solid-state battery (SSB) products, Longquan 3 and Longquan 4, at its solid-state battery research and production base in Chengdu Economic Development Zone. The launch marks a key step in EVE’s push to solve low-operating-pressure challenges, a critical bottleneck for the practical application of solid-state battery technology.
Product Overview & Technical Specifications
EVE’s Longquan series solid-state batteries are built on a composite solid electrolyte platform, with optimized cathode double-coating and anode structures to reduce interface impedance. The two new models are tailored for distinct market segments:
-
Longquan 3
- Target Applications: High-end consumer electronics, humanoid robots, premium drones, and portable high-end devices
- Operating Pressure: ≤2MPa (ultra-low pressure, eliminating the need for complex high-pressure packaging)
- Core Advantages: High volumetric energy density, stable cycling under low pressure, simplified system design, and lower integration costs
-
Longquan 4
- Target Applications: Electric vehicles (EVs), heavy-duty aerial vehicles, and energy storage systems
- Operating Pressure: ≤5MPa (optimized for automotive and industrial scenarios)
- Core Advantages: 60Ah large-capacity cell design, preliminary automotive-grade engineering validation, and scalability for mass production testing
Development Background & Industry Position
EVE Energy began constructing its solid-state battery research and production facility in Chengdu in 2022. In September 2025, the company launched the Longquan 2 (10Ah) model, focusing on high-end equipment verification. The Longquan 3 and 4 iterations represent a significant upgrade, specifically addressing the pressure constraints that have hindered solid-state battery commercialization.
Compared to the earlier Longquan 2, the new models feature drastically reduced operating pressure thresholds, enabling compatibility with real-world consumer and automotive use cases. EVE’s Chengdu base currently supports a production line for 10–60Ah all-solid-state batteries, with both Longquan 3 and 4 available as engineering samples for customer validation.
Future Roadmap
EVE Energy plans to continue iterating on pressure control, cycle life, and rate performance. The company will conduct joint testing with terminal customers across consumer electronics, EV, and industrial sectors to accelerate the transition from engineering samples to mass production and commercial delivery.
Industry Context
Solid-state batteries are widely regarded as the next-generation energy storage technology, offering higher energy density, improved safety, and longer cycle life compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. EVE’s low-pressure SSB development aligns with global industry efforts to overcome technical barriers and bring solid-state batteries to market at scale.
