HiTHIUM Signs 120 GWh Strategic Energy Storage Agreement with CRRC Zhuzhou

∞Cell 314Ah, ∞Cell 587Ah, ∞Cell 1175Ah

On December 5, 2025, HiTHIUM formalized a strategic cooperation agreement with the Comprehensive Energy Business Unit of CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CRRC Zhuzhou). Under the terms of the deal, HiTHIUM will supply no less than 120 GWh of energy storage products between 2026 and 2030, the duration of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. The agreement covers multiple high-capacity battery types—including the 314Ah, ∞Cell 587Ah, ∞Cell 1175Ah, and other advanced storage solutions. By integrating their complementary strengths, both organizations aim to advance large-scale energy storage applications, accelerate technological development, enhance industrial collaboration, and help drive the global shift toward clean energy.

The signing ceremony was attended by Yuanyuan Tang, Deputy General Manager of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, and Jeff Wu, Founder and Chairman of HiTHIUM. The agreement was officially signed by Xiaodi Zang, Deputy General Manager of the CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Comprehensive Energy Business Unit, and Yuyuan Wu, Vice President of HiTHIUM.

A Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Energy Innovation

With global energy systems undergoing rapid transformation, the demand for large-capacity power storage is rising sharply. High-safety, high-efficiency, long-life energy storage technologies have become central to building next-generation power systems and supporting higher renewable energy penetration.

This collaboration reflects a shared industry vision between two major players. Beyond the large-volume product supply, the partnership covers a broad range of application scenarios, including smart energy storage, commercial and industrial storage, shared storage, and distributed solutions. Together, the companies will focus on delivering storage systems with enhanced safety, efficiency, and longevity, while also exploring new business models to advance sustainable industry development.

∞Cell 587Ah: Strengthening Market Position Through High-Quality Delivery

HiTHIUM’s ∞Cell 587Ah continues to maintain its lead as an early-released, early-produced, and early-delivered ultra-high-capacity battery. Introduced in 2024 and mass-produced by August 2025, the technology has already been deployed at scale. It recently contributed to the batch delivery of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute’s new 6.25MWh BESS projects planned for renewable-heavy regions in northwest China, collectively surpassing the gigawatt-hour level. These deployments further confirm the product’s reliability and delivery capability in real-world utility applications.

The ∞Cell 587Ah features high performance, robust safety, high reliability, long cycle life, and broad adaptability—forming a competitive product line anchored by unified technological platforms and shared design advantages.

∞Cell 1175Ah Advancing the 6.X Technology Roadmap

As a cornerstone of the 120 GWh collaboration, the ∞Cell 1175Ah highlights the technological ambitions of the partnership. Iteratively upgraded since 2024, the battery and its compatible systems continue to push industry boundaries. The product entered mass production in June 2025 and achieved global delivery of the first 6.25MWh 4-hour long-duration energy storage system in October 2025, signaling its maturity for large-scale deployment.

The new agreement establishes a dual-track cooperation path centered on 6.X ultra-high-capacity integrated systems—from initial concept planning to production and global rollout. Backed by HiTHIUM’s full-stack capabilities across R&D, manufacturing, and scenario validation, the ∞Cell 1175Ah and ∞Cell 587Ah together form a flexible product matrix suited for diverse duration and application needs, offering customers a “dual-engine” platform for sustainable energy innovation.

Building an Integrated Industry Ecosystem for the Future of Energy

The cooperation spans the entire value chain—from battery cells and modules to system integration and end-user applications. Both companies will develop deeper institutional collaboration mechanisms, expand market opportunities, and accelerate the deployment of large-capacity energy storage systems across various sectors. Their joint efforts aim to support the global shift toward a cleaner, safer, and more resilient energy ecosystem.

The partnership marks a new milestone for both HiTHIUM and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, representing a meaningful contribution to China’s high-quality energy storage development. With a planned delivery of 120 GWh over five years, the two organizations commit to advancing large-capacity storage technologies, supporting next-generation power systems, and offering scalable solutions to the global energy transition.
