Cornex Showcases Full-Scenario Storage at IGEM 2026

utility-scale energy storage

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 7 — Cornex appeared at the Malaysia International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference (IGEM 2026), held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, bringing a full-scenario energy storage portfolio and cylindrical battery product matrix. The company presented an integrated solution covering residential storage, commercial and industrial (C&I) storage, utility-scale storage and light-duty power applications, while formally signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Malaysia’s NCL Energy Sdn Bhd. The move is seen as a step to accelerate its layout in Southeast Asia’s green energy market through technology and product advantages.

Malaysia lies in the tropics, where year-round high temperatures and humidity place strict demands on the safety, weather resistance and cycle life of energy storage products. Meanwhile, the government is accelerating its energy transition, and renewable energy installations continue to climb. Demand is increasingly robust across multiple scenarios, including storage paired with large ground-mounted power plants, peak shaving and valley filling for commercial and industrial users, and backup power for data centers.

Addressing these pain points and opportunities, Cornex focused on multi-specification storage batteries such as 100Ah, 314Ah and 588Ah, as well as its M5 and M6 prefabricated storage cabin systems. With strong safety and long cycle life, the products are designed to withstand extreme climate challenges and provide reliable support for large-scale storage stations, residential storage and renewable energy storage projects. Its C&I storage products are precisely aligned with power management needs in Malaysia’s manufacturing and commercial parks, helping businesses optimize electricity costs and improve energy utilization efficiency. In addition, 20Ah, 30Ah and 50Ah light-duty power products were displayed, further expanding Cornex’s application boundaries in short-distance electric mobility and portable storage in Southeast Asia.

During the exhibition, Cornex and NCL Energy Sdn Bhd officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Founded in 2007, NCL Energy Sdn Bhd covers power infrastructure, high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, renewable energy, solar PV and data center engineering, and is a subsidiary of TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. Under the agreement, the two parties will fully integrate their resource advantages and focus on deep cooperation in Malaysia’s large-scale energy storage, data center (AIDC) and new energy supporting storage projects, jointly promoting the scaled local deployment and application of Cornex’s advanced storage products and system solutions.

Industry observers note that Malaysia’s storage market is entering a phase of accelerated growth, with foreign technology providers increasingly partnering with local engineering and infrastructure players. Cornex’s latest exhibition and agreement underscore how storage suppliers are positioning themselves for the region’s next wave of renewable and data-center-driven demand.
