CALB Showcases Full-Scenario Marine Energy Solutions at SMM 2026

From September 1 to 4, the global maritime industry’s premier event – the 2026 Hamburg International Maritime Show (SMM 2026) – is in full swing. At this pivotal gathering focused on shipping decarbonisation and technological innovation, CALB has made a strong impression with its full-scenario new-energy solutions for marine applications.

Facing the stringent demands of ship electrification – including safety, longevity, power performance, and cost-effectiveness – CALB is stepping up as a battery specialist. By building a complete closed loop from individual cells to the broader ecosystem, the company is showcasing its comprehensive strength in marine traction batteries across the board.

For pure-electric operating profiles such as inland container vessels and port shuttle craft, CALB has launched a new generation of long-cycle-life, high-energy-density cells alongside modular containerised energy storage systems. This solution delivers a 40% improvement in range over previous-generation products and comes with an industry-leading 15-year extended warranty. Its unique modular architecture not only accommodates customised requirements but also ensures rapid delivery within four months.

For high-power scenarios including tugboats, dredgers, and other harbour workboats, CALB has successfully developed a 4C high-rate battery system. This system perfectly meets instantaneous power demands during startup, acceleration, and varying operating conditions, while also reducing the initial capital expenditure of the battery system by more than 50% compared with lower-rate alternatives.
