World's First 400MWh Energy Storage Station with 628Ah Batteries Goes Live

On September 8, the world’s first 400MWh energy storage station built with 628Ah large-scale batteries was successfully connected to the grid in one attempt.

Following the release and mass production of its 628Ah storage battery, the company has now achieved the first large-scale application of the technology at the Luingshou Ruite New Energy Project. This milestone confirms Eve Energy’s capacity to deliver full-chain innovation—from R&D and production to real-world deployment—ushering in a new era of technologically driven growth for the energy storage industry.

Large-Capacity Batteries Open a New Chapter in Grid-Scale Storage

Against the backdrop of global energy transition, energy storage is rapidly scaling and commercializing. Breaking the 600Ah capacity barrier has become essential to improving system energy density, reducing lifecycle costs, and enhancing safety and reliability.

The Luingshou 200MW/400MWh independent energy storage project, developed by Eve Energy and Beijing State Grid Power Technology Co., Ltd., was connected on September 8. It is the first hundred-megawatt-level facility worldwide to use 628Ah batteries, demonstrating the commercial readiness of large battery systems and setting a new benchmark for the industry.

Eve Energy completed delivery and grid-connection of 80 sets of Mr. Giant 5MWh energy storage systems (using 628Ah batteries) and 40 power conversion units within just one week—showcasing strong end-to-end capabilities in super-large storage project execution. From quality control and system integration to commissioning and operational support, the company has validated the maturity and feasibility of its large battery technology.

As the first operational hundred-megawatt-level station using such large batteries, the project offers critical practical experience for future large-scale applications. It will significantly enhance grid peak-shaving and frequency regulation capabilities, improve power supply reliability and renewable energy integration, and support Hebei Province’s energy structure optimization and carbon goals.

Going Global: Mr. Giant Systems Shipped Overseas

On September 10, the first batch of Mr. Giant 5MWh energy storage systems equipped with 628Ah batteries were shipped to Australia and Europe. The Mr. Giant system combines simplified design, high integration, and environmental benefits (operating noise as low as 65 dB), making it ideally suited for long-duration storage of four hours or more. Its international acceptance signals the arrival of a new global era for large battery energy storage systems.

From the successful connection of the first 400MWh project to batch exports of containerized systems, Eve Energy has not only advanced the 628Ah battery from product leadership to market application but has also accelerated the industry’s transition toward higher efficiency, economy, and reliability.
