Sunwoda Responds to Large-Capacity Era with Full-Core Strength at ESIE 2026

BEIJING — From April 1 to 3, Sunwoda made a prominent appearance at ESIE 2026 in Beijing, showcasing its technological roadmap and industrialization capabilities for the large-capacity energy storage era. With a focus on battery cell breakthroughs, mass-production readiness, system-level empowerment, and full-scenario solutions, the company demonstrated how its integrated approach meets the rapidly evolving demands of utility, commercial & industrial (C&I), and mobile storage markets.

“Full-Core” lineup: multiple technology routes fuel the large-capacity era

At the exhibition, Sunwoda presented a complete energy storage cell portfolio including 102Ah, 280Ah, 314Ah, 588Ah and 684Ah models, forming a capacity ladder that adapts to different system design requirements. Among them, the 102Ah, 280Ah and 314Ah cells have been validated through extensive market application and large-scale project practices. Recognized for their high consistency, long cycle life and robust safety performance, these mature products provide a stable and reliable engineering foundation for energy storage systems worldwide.

On top of this proven baseline, Sunwoda introduced two flagship large-capacity cells — the 588Ah and the 684Ah — developed respectively using winding and lamination technology routes. The dual-track approach balances performance and engineering adaptability through distinct manufacturing processes. As of the end of March 2026, Sunwoda has produced over two million units of the 684Ah laminated cell, marking a significant milestone in volume production for ultra-large capacity cells. By pursuing parallel technology paths, the company not only offers greater design flexibility for system integrators but also effectively mitigates single-route engineering risks. As the storage industry accelerates toward higher-capacity systems, Sunwoda strikes a comprehensive equilibrium among product reliability, engineering adaptability, and industrial scalability.

Global market validation: setting reliability benchmarks through international standards

During the exhibition, Sunwoda’s 684Ah energy storage cell received CB certificates for IEC 62619 and IEC 62620 from TÜV Rheinland, confirming that the cell fully meets international safety and performance requirements. IEC 62619 focuses on battery safety specifications, covering rigorous test conditions such as overcharge and short-circuit protection. IEC 62620 systematically validates cell performance in high/low temperature environments, cycle life, and operational stability. Obtaining these two certifications not only verifies the safety and reliability of Sunwoda’s large-capacity cells but also provides authoritative endorsement for global project deployment, facilitating cross-border adoption and project execution.

From cell capabilities to multi-scenario value: the competitive shift toward application performance

As the energy storage industry enters a scenario-driven phase, the cell is no longer just a component — it becomes the starting point for system capability and application value. With the expanding boundaries of storage deployment, diverse applications impose differentiated requirements in terms of energy density, system efficiency, deployment flexibility, and operational robustness. Addressing the “Energy Storage + X” paradigm, Sunwoda leverages its large-capacity cells as the core, combined with system integration and engineering expertise, to transform cell advantages into scenario-specific solutions.

In grid-scale storage, high-capacity cells coupled with highly integrated system design improve round-trip efficiency and project return on investment. For C&I storage, the liquid-cooled all-in-one system demonstrates flexible deployment and reliable operation even in complex energy environments. In mobile storage and other emerging scenarios, the company’s system architecture supports mobile deployment and high-reliability design, expanding the practical application boundaries of energy storage technology. From cell performance to system capabilities, and ultimately to scenario-driven value, the real worth of energy storage is shifting from “the equipment itself” toward “the value it delivers in use” — and cell excellence is becoming the critical bridge linking technology to real-world applications.

With a full-cell portfolio spanning mature and next-generation chemistries, over 2 million 684Ah laminated cells already in production, and internationally recognized safety certifications, Sunwoda positions itself as a key enabler for the large-capacity storage era. As the competition moves beyond single-cell specifications to system-level integration and application adaptability, the company’s “full-core” strategy underscores its commitment to reliability, scalability, and global market readiness.
