XIAMEN, China, Dec. 12, 2025 — At its third Eco-Day event, HiTHIUM today announced the global launch of ∞Power, described as the world's first collaborative lithium-sodium full-duration energy storage portfolio engineered specifically for AI Data Centers (AIDC). The solution integrates long-duration lithium BESS with high-rate sodium-ion BESS, featuring units including ∞Power 6.25MWh 4h, ∞Power 6.9MWh 8h, ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h, and ∞Power 6.25MWh 2h. This portfolio establishes a coordinated "source-grid-load" framework aimed at addressing core AIDC requirements for sustainability, agility, stability, and cost-efficiency, potentially setting a new standard for low-carbon, resilient AI infrastructure.
Long-Duration Storage Identified as Critical for AI Power Demands
Analysts note that surging AI computational workloads are creating unprecedented energy demand, while traditional power infrastructure development lags by 5–10 years. Furthermore, AIDCs generate rapid, sharp load fluctuations—sometimes up to 70% within milliseconds—posing dual risks to grid stability and data center uptime, with conventional energy sources exacerbating carbon emissions.
Dr. Nazar Yi, HiTHIUM Board Member and Vice President, emphasized that overcoming this bottleneck necessitates an energy system prioritizing agile deployment and green development. The new ∞Power Solutions purportedly deliver a comprehensive upgrade, leveraging long-duration energy storage (LDES) on the source side and a lithium-sodium collaborative configuration on the load side.
A "Green Power Accelerator" for Source-Side Agility
By pairing LDES with renewable sources like solar and wind, HiTHIUM's approach claims to compress power infrastructure build cycles to 1–2 years. In scenarios where renewables supply over 80% of an AIDC's demand, the 8-hour LDES is designed to maximize value by lowering levelized cost of energy (LCOE), hedging price volatility, and supporting grid services like frequency control and black-start capabilities.
A Bidirectional Stabilizer for Grid and Load-Side Resilience
Beyond securing a stable green power supply, HiTHIUM adds a resilience layer at the grid and load side with a bidirectional stabilizer. The core innovation is the pairing of high-rate sodium-ion batteries for instantaneous power with long-duration lithium-ion systems for energy capacity.
For instantaneous response, the high-rate sodium-ion system provides ultra-high discharge capability to smooth millisecond-level load spikes, creating what the company terms a dynamic "electromagnetic shield" for both grid and data center. HiTHIUM's proprietary sodium-ion cells are reported to offer over 25 years of service life, boosting system efficiency by more than 3% and balancing instantaneous power response with long-term durability.
The lithium LDES backup system is positioned as a significant upgrade to traditional models. For a 4-hour backup duration, lifecycle costs are cited as over 20% lower than diesel generators, enabling zero-carbon, silent backup power for AIDC campuses.
The solution can connect to existing AIDC power architectures via fast-response Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and is also compatible with next-generation high-voltage DC systems using high-efficiency DC/DC converters, achieving sub-10-millisecond response times.
With this launch, HiTHIUM states it has built a multi-layer, full-scenario smart energy security system spanning source, grid, and load. This system aims not only to address current tensions between compute growth and power availability but also to provide a future-proof foundation of green, agile, stable, and economical support for the AI
