Gotion release Astroinno L600 battery can achieve a range of 1000km without relying on NCM material



During the commencement event, Dr. Qian Cheng, serving as the Executive President of Gotion Global, unveiled the latest innovation from the company: the Astroinno L600 battery. Dr. Cheng explained that to surmount the energy density limitations of LFP batteries, they developed a lithium iron manganese phosphate (LMFP) variant by incorporating manganese doping. Over the past decade, Gotion has been dedicated to advancing LMFP material research and development. Through the application of co-precipitation, doping encapsulation technology, novel granulation techniques, and innovative electrolyte additives, they successfully addressed challenges related to Mn leakage at high temperatures, low electrical conductivity, and limited press density in LMFP batteries.

Moreover, noteworthy progress was achieved with the collaboration of the Cleveland Institute in Ohio, USA, who devised an improved electrolyte for LMFP batteries. This advancement notably enhances high-temperature cycling and storage performance. By harnessing their in-house developed LMFP materials and the enhanced electrolyte, Gotion triumphantly brought forth the Astroinno L600 battery cell.


The Astroinno L600 LMFP cell boasts an impressive gravimetric energy density of 240 Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 525 Wh/L. It demonstrates endurance with more than 4,000 cycles at room temperature and 1,800 cycles at elevated temperatures. Furthermore, it achieves an 18-minute rapid charging capability while effortlessly passing rigorous safety tests. Dr. Cheng emphasized that the high energy density of the Astroinno battery facilitates an extraordinary 1,000 km range without relying on NCM materials. The anticipated timeline for the mass production of Gotion's L600 battery cell is 2024.

The Astroinno battery pack is engineered with a sandwich-structured, double-sided liquid cooling technology coupled with a minimalist design philosophy. This approach significantly reduces the number of battery pack structural components by 45% and lightens the structural parts by 32%. The streamlined electrical design concurrently reduces the battery pack wiring harness length from 303 meters to just 80 meters, which is a mere 26% of the length of previous battery pack designs. Despite this efficiency, the pack maintains a volumetric cell-to-pack ratio of 76% and achieves an impressive pack energy density of 190 Wh/kg. This outperforms the energy density of NCM batteries currently available in the market. Essentially, by not relying on the NCM battery configuration, Gotion High-Tech's Astroinno battery pack has triumphantly realized an industry-first 1,000 km range and surpasses 1,800 cycles of 18-minute rapid charging.
