
On October 27, CORNE X held an event in Xiangyang to debut its next-generation 6C "Everest" fast-charging battery cell. Executive Vice President Bu Xiangnan presented the strategic product, which combines high safety, extended driving range, and ultra-rapid charging capabilities. Inspired by Mount Everest's symbolism of extreme challenges, the battery reflects CORNE X's drive to push technological limits and set new industry standards, potentially accelerating the shift toward global green mobility.
Safety is a core focus of the Everest battery. CORNE X has implemented a comprehensive protection system spanning materials to system design:
Double-Sided Ceramic Separator: This enhancement boosts the separator's heat resistance and reduces thermal shrinkage, lowering short-circuit risks from overheating and improving the cell's inherent safety.
Directional Instant-Venting Port: An innovative pressure-release channel allows controlled, rapid energy discharge during thermal events, maintaining internal pressure and temperature to ensure no fire or explosion occurrences.
Driving range is a critical factor for EV practicality. The Everest cell uses multi-level cathode particle grading and double-layer anode coating, achieving a mass energy density of 190 Wh/kg and volumetric energy density of 420 Wh/L. This supports system-level ranges exceeding 1000 kilometers.
To counter performance drops in cold climates, the battery incorporates high-activity low-temperature electrolytes, retaining over 85% energy at -20°C. Even with a 20% state of charge, it maintains a 1C discharge rate, ensuring reliable power in freezing, low-charge scenarios.
Charging efficiency is a key innovation of the Everest cell. Through advances in electrode materials and processes, it balances fast charging with long range, sustaining a 6C ultra-fast charging rate. On an 800V platform with CORNE X's CTP 3.0 system, a 10-minute charge adds 600 kilometers of range, rivaling traditional refueling times.
