CORNEX Unveils Dual-Route Lithium and Sodium Marine Solutions for Green Inland Shipping

On September 8, the New Technology and Equipment for Green and Intelligent Inland Waterway Ships Exhibition opened at the Wuhan International Expo Center. As a co-host, CORNEX displayed specialized marine battery cells, marine liquid-cooling systems, and high-capacity energy storage battery cells, presenting end-to-end solutions aimed at accelerating decarbonization in inland shipping.

Responding to global net-zero goals and the growing electrification of commercial vessels, CORNEX introduced dedicated marine battery lines for lithium-ion and sodium-ion chemistries. Its 320Ah marine lithium battery cell is designed to deliver high energy density and long cycle life, meeting heavy-duty power and range requirements on inland waterways. The 165Ah and 350Ah sodium-ion cells offer a cost-effective and highly secure alternative, supported by abundant raw materials, strong cold-weather performance, and superior thermal stability. The company said the combined lineup can serve vessels of different tonnages, operating conditions, and navigation zones.

In system integration, CORNEX highlighted two advanced liquid-cooling battery systems built for complex marine environments. The 10-foot lithium-ion system, powered by 320Ah cells, uses advanced thermal management to help ensure safe, stable operation in high-energy-density configurations. The 20-foot sodium-ion system uses CORNEX’s proprietary sodium battery cells and leverages their broad operating temperature window to provide a cost-efficient option for larger vessels. Both platforms feature modular architectures, intelligent BMS controls, and heavy-duty protective enclosures.

CORNEX also presented 588Ah and 648Ah ultra-high-capacity energy storage battery cells to expand applications in port energy storage and shore power facilities, helping create an integrated “Vessel-Port-Shore” green energy ecosystem. The company said it will continue increasing R&D investment and working with partners across the maritime value chain to support a cleaner, smarter future for global shipping.
