As an essential part of Gotion Hi-Tech's globalization strategy, after the Xinzhan 50GWh power battery project is produced, it will provide a new generation of battery technology and products for world-class automobile companies.

On December 7, the Gotion High-tech 50GWh power battery project officially started in Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Zone. The project is constructed in two phases, and the first phase will be formally put into production before the end of March 2023.

As an essential part of Gotion Hi-Tech's globalization strategy, after the project is produced, it will provide a new generation of battery technology and products for world-class automobile companies.

Xu Xingwu, executive vice president of Gotion High-tech Industrial Research Institute and commander-in-chief of the new station 50GWh power battery project, introduced that the project uses a brand-new battery platform technology, applies the world's most advanced material system. Better manufacturing technology and more Intelligent management mode enable products to achieve higher energy density, longer cycle life, better environmental adaptability, guarantee the excellent performance and intrinsic safety of battery products, and meet the stringent requirements of world-class OEMs for battery performance and quality.

On July 20 this year, Gotion High-Tech announced that it plans to build a 20GWh power battery production base in the Xinzhan High-tech Zone, which will focus on the production and manufacturing of Volkswagen standard batteries. It is not difficult to see that Volkswagen is the international first-class OEM supporting the above-mentioned new station 50GWh project.

In early July, Gotion Hi-Tech has reached strategic cooperation with Volkswagen Group to develop the first generation of standard batteries for its conventional mass-produced models. The two parties jointly promote the industrial production of batteries at Volkswagen's Salzgitter plant, and Gotion will provide corresponding technical support.

In terms of products, the energy density of the Gotion Hi-Tech high-nickel ternary battery exceeded 302 Wh/kg, and the system energy density exceeded 200 Wh/kg, and it successfully achieved large-scale mass production. The storm has been equipped with various mid-to-high-end models and is currently the most widely covered high-energy-density battery product with the most significant shipment volume.

Significant progress has also been made in the layout of semi-solid batteries. Gotion Hi-Tech has provided semi-solid batteries for domestic high-end pure electric vehicles to achieve a cruising range of over 1,000 kilometers, double the first-generation model.

In terms of market development, Gotion Hi-Tech has recently received an order for power batteries from a subsidiary of Great Wall Motors. The two parties have determined that the total power delivered between 2022 and 2025 will not be less than 10GWh.

In the first ten months of this year, Gotion High-Tech's domestic installed capacity reached 5.52GWh, which has already surpassed LG New Energy, and its domestic ranking rose to fourth place. With the blessing of market development, its installed capacity will further increase.

In terms of production capacity deployment, it currently has eight production bases in Hefei, Hefei Economic Development Zone, Lujiang, Nanjing, Qingdao, Tangshan, Nantong, Liuzhou, and other places in China. It has also acquired the Göttingen factory of Bosch Group in Germany and established it in The first new energy production and operation base in Europe.

Gotion Hi-Tech recently revealed on the interactive platform that the company's production capacity will reach 50GWh by the end of this year, 100GWh by the end of 2022, and 300GWh by 2025.

Under the large-scale expansion, Gotion Hi-Tech has built a production and R&D system from lithium resources and battery cell manufacturing to battery PACK and energy storage systems, realizing the layout of the entire power battery industry chain.

At present, its upstream material layout has covered lithium, cobalt, nickel, precursors, ternary materials, LFP materials, lithium titanate, positive electrodes, negative electrodes, copper foils, separators, electrolytes, additives, etc.
