March 28CALB has officially unveiled its cutting-edge solid-liquid hybrid battery at the Hefei New Energy Commercial Vehicle Exhibition, marking its market debut aboard Chery’s new energy mini-trucks. Furthermore, during Chery Commercial Vehicles' spring launch event, multiple light commercial models—including trucks and vans—were showcased featuring CALB’s "Zhiyuan" commercial battery series.

The mass production and market launch of the 400Wh/kg solid-liquid hybrid battery is set to significantly elevate the driving and operational experience for new energy commercial vehicles through several key technical advancements:

  • Record-Breaking Energy Density: Featuring an energy density of 400Wh/kg, the battery sets a new industry benchmark for commercial vehicles. This represents a 122% increase compared to liquid lithium batteries in similar models, delivering an extended driving range alongside a noticeably lighter curb weight.
  • Uncompromising Safety Standards: The battery has successfully passed 44 rigorous safety and reliability tests, including fire exposure, thermal propagation, crushing, short-circuiting, underbody scraping, and ice-water immersion. These results far exceed the stringent requirements of the new national standard GB 38031-2025, ensuring "ultimate safety" throughout the vehicle's entire lifecycle and across all operating conditions.
  • Rapid Charging Capabilities: With support for 2C supercharging technology, the battery can achieve a fast 30% to 80% state-of-charge (SOC) replenishment in just 15 minutes, significantly reducing vehicle downtime.
  • Superior Cold-Weather Performance: In harsh -25°C environments, the battery maintains a driving range over 20% higher than equivalent liquid lithium batteries and is capable of continuous 1C discharge. This breakthrough effectively resolves the longstanding issue of diminished operational efficiency for new energy commercial vehicles operating in freezing northern climates.
